International Aerial Athletics Association (IAAA) officially introduces the IAAA World Ranking System, a unified international ranking structure designed to reflect athlete consistency, technical quality, and competitive performance across the Seasons of the IAAA World Aerial Online Cup.

The IAAA World Ranking is built through continuous participation and progression throughout the year.

The ranking system operates on a transparent principle:
IAAA World Ranking = Best 2 Results within the Last 12 Months

The international ranking includes:

• 4 competition Seasons per year
• Only the 2 best athlete results counted
• Automatic expiration of results after 12 months
This structure encourages long-term development, regular participation, and stable athletic performance throughout the competitive cycle.

Athletes are ranked separately according to discipline, age group and competition category

The IAAA ranking system uses a hybrid scoring model:

Ranking Points = Place Points + Score Bonus

Place Points:

• Winner — 1000
• Finalist — 800
• 3rd Place — 650
• 4th Place — 550
• 5th Place — 480
• 6th Place — 430
• 7th Place — 390
• 8th Place — 350
• Qualified Participation — 250
In addition to placement points, every athlete receives an individual judging score which is added directly to the ranking total.

Examples:

• Winner with score 92 → 1092 points
• Finalist with score 89 → 889 points
This model ensures that technical quality, execution, and judging evaluation directly influence the ranking position, not only the final placement.

The system also includes a Competition Strength Factor, where ranking points are adjusted depending on the number of participants in a category:

• 3–4 athletes — ×0.75
• 5–7 athletes — ×0.90
• 8+ athletes — ×1.00
• 15+ athletes — ×1.10
This approach ensures fair ranking distribution and reflects the competitive depth of each division.

The IAAA World Ranking System is designed to reward consistency across Seasons, technical excellence, active competitive participation and long-term athlete development within the international system.

The ranking system forms part of IAAA’s broader mission to establish unified international standards and create a structured global pathway for athletes in Aerial Athletics.
